 No matter what the color scheme, if you don't often use the colors in the palette, you may find them hard to work with. The best thing you can do is to start with a neutral tone and then build upward.

My own artwork is deceptively simple. I like clean, sleek lines, geometric shapes and lean on space. Where I add my signature is with lots of layers, texture and color, and this sketch is perfect for my style and appeals to my need for white space while adding elements and embellishments that accent the theme of my layout.

Tiny scraps of paper are a common issue for papercrafters. What do you do with all those leftovers? Feeding them through a paper shredder is a great way to get uniform size pieces of paper to create unique textured backgrounds.

 It may be a color that pops out at you. Perhaps it's the way something is arranged in a photo. The shapes, designs, textures...we all see them and yet, we are inspired in so many different ways.

The weather is getting warmer and it's a little shocking to find that summer is here. Many of us experienced unusual weather this year and missed some of the usual springtime blooms. Lets say our goodbyes to spring with a lovely, pastel color palette.

Don’t let the simplicity of this sketch fool you. With the layered hearts and the diagonal lines, you can create a well-balanced layout full of movement and imagination. You can use the hearts literally and focus on a page with a love or romantic theme or you can use the hearts to express your love for something rather than someone. It could also be a great way to highlight a trip to a place you fell in love with.

As the northern hemisphere moves into the warmer months, thoughts often turn toward the seashore. Who wouldn't want a little cabin like this at the beach?
