Unfortunately we've had a couple major setbacks when it comes to our site and the current one isn't stable enough to continue and the new one isn't ready yet. We are working diligently to rectify the situation and to publish the magazine as quickly as we can. We're sorry for the inconvenience and will make sure that you are compensated in your subscriptions. We look forward to debuting our new site and magazine format and we sincerely thank you for your patience.

Volume #5, Issue #1

January 2012 Issue

Cover and Cover Artwork Created by Katherine Hansen

We've got good news and some not so good news. First, the good news. For over a month now, we've been working on a brand new site for SNR, including a complete overhaul of the magazine. It's now even easier to navigate, has a cool new look and is getting rave reviews from testers.

Now for the not so good news. We just found out that our subscription software just went kaboom. As in, wiped out and we have to input all of our subscribers - new and old - in order to publish the magazine. Otherwise everyone will be able to see it and well, that's just not fair to our loyal paid subscribers.

The goal is to input all of the subscribers (no easy feat) over the next couple days. We don't want to give you an end date as we don't want to have to come back and say, "Nope, not today." So our administrative staffers will become inputting machines and get it done as quickly as we can and we'll let you know the minute we go live with the new magazine and the new site.

We thank you for your patience and as a token of our appreciation, we're extending all paid subscribers subscriptions by one month and all published readers by two weeks. So get ready for a brand new look and feel and we can't wait to show you what we've been working so hard on!

Please let us know if you have any questions. Send them to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and we'll get back to you as quickly as we can. Thanks!

Pan Pastels can be applied all manner of ways from foam applicators to cotton swabs to your fingers. You don’t have to stop with mainstream applicators, though. There are no rules when it comes to Pan Pastels so play!

I’ve used ink with my Cuttlebug embossing folders before so I wondered how they’d work with Pan Pastels.

Without a doubt, EK Success is one of my favorite paper crafting companies. They just seem to have it all and they make products with quality and care in mind. Besides Martha Stewart and K&Co, they also have some other great brands such as Jolee's and Laliberi.

If you're not familiar with them, then now is a great time to take a closer look. Laliberi is a perfect example of taking a second look at a product that is specifcally made with something in mind (in this case, jewelry and fashion accessories) and tweaking them to fit your paper crafting needs. You'll simply be amazed at all the different takes on such specific products that my staffers created. In a word, breathtaking.

Jolee's are a popular sticker line and for this event, we narrowed down the theme to their Steampunk collection and the projects are fresh, fun, eclectic and boingng with color and energy. Even if you're not a fan of Steampunk as a style, you'll fall in love with them and with what our staffers have done with them.

Come on over and check out both events!

Steampunk Event

There are two exciting events on our forum just waiting for you. Head on over to see some amazing creations using Pan Pastel's artist pastels. Once you see them in action, you'll be craving for a set of your own. They're soft and creamy and go on your projects like butter.

Here's a lovely sneak peek of a project created by SNR Staffer Wendy Greenaway:

Then click here for a step-by-step tutorial on how you can create your own project using Pan Pastel artist pastels and beeswax. It's a lot easier than you may think and just think about what a great technique this will be to use on any paper crafting project, including cards, ATCs and so much more.
